The focus of the work is to enable clients to regain control over their thoughts and behaviors, releasing them from the prison of \u201cacting out\u201d toward experiencing freedom, peace and joy in their\u00a0lives.\u00a0 Clients reclaim their relationships with their families as well as with themselves.\u00a0 Clients do not need to self-identify as a \u201csex addict\u201d to seek and receive help and relief from the compulsive need to act on obsessive thoughts.<\/p>

Why do this work?<\/h4>

Research indicates long-term recovery from sexual addiction increases dramatically with therapy and 12-step program attendance.\u00a0 Our practice utilizes the task-oriented program developed by Patrick Carnes, Ph.D. This program is designed to arrest\u00a0 acting out behavior and progression of the disease.\u00a0 In treatment clients experience emotional and spiritual healing as they reclaim integrity by becoming honest, developing self-awareness and understand the meaning of their behavior.<\/p>
